Still Favors Noles

Atlanta Westlake offensive lineman Courtney Abbott wants to make one thing perfectly clear. He still favors Florida State after committing to the Seminoles in late October. However, Abbott also wants to be perfectly clear he makes the right decision on National Signing Day in February. That's why he has scheduled official visits to LSU and Florida next month.

Abbott, a 6-foot-9, 330-pounder, also has relied heavily on his mother during the recruiting process. In fact, she has encouraged him to study all available options as National Signing Day quickly approaches.

"There are some things that opened my mother's eyes about the other schools," Abbott said.

"I am 80 percent sure I will stick with my commitment to Florida State. "It's going to come down to my mother and if she likes (FSU) and thinks it's the best situation for me, I am going to stick with FSU."

While Abbott may appear to be wavering, he said he continues to remain in contact with Land O' Lakes quarterback Drew Weatherford, who also has committed to attend FSU next season.

Abbott also continues to telephone other recruits considering the Seminoles.

"If I decide to stick with FSU, me and Drew would like to get all the recruits together on signing day in Tallahassee to let the country know what kind of team we are going to have," Abbott said.
