Noles Moving Up For Hawthorne QB

For the Last few months, Hawthorne (Fla.) quarterback Cornelius Ingram has been leaning towards the Florida Gators. However, it sounds like the tide has changed somewhat. Where do the Noles stand with The Insiders.com No 10 rated quarterback in the country?

"It's still Florida and Florida State," Ingram said. "Things have kind of evened up now. Florida State has made up some ground. When I had Florida leading, I wasn't hearing from Florida State that much. Now I talk to both schools about the same."

Last night, coaches from both Florida and Florida State were supposed to be in attendance for the Gainesville/Hawthorne rivalry game. However, only one staff made it into the Gym.

"Coach Allen, Lilly and Sexton of Florida State were at the game," the four-star quarterback said. "They got there about 6:00 PM. The Florida coaches couldn't make it into the Gym because the game sold out. My parents didn't even make it in. Florida called today to let me know why they weren't inside."

In a losing effort, Ingram had an outstanding performance by scoring 31 points and clearing 15 rebounds.

Both programs are recruiting Lee for quarterback but the 6-foot-4 and 195 pound standout has other options also.

"Florida and Florida State are both recruiting me as a quarterback," Ingram said. "If push comes to shove I could also play wide receiver. However, I want to compete at quarterback. I have a lot of respect for Drew Weatherford. However, I feel I can compete with anyone. If Florida State is where I want to go then that's where I'll go."

Ingram will officially visit Florida State (1/9) and Florida (1/16). He will most likely make his decision shortly after those tow visits.

As a senior Ingram passed for over 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns in a running offense. He also rushed for over 600 yards on the ground.
