Jae Thaxton is considered one of the top linebackers in the Southeast. He's tall, strong and quick. Thaxton, who visited Florida State last month, is scheduled to visit Georgia Jan. 9. Thaxton, a 6-foot-3, 220-pounder from Hartwell (Ga.) Hart County, has been fairly open about his recruitment.

"I have all of my visits set up," Jae Thaxton told TheInsiders.

Georgia will be the first of several visits for Thaxton.

FSU assistant coach Jody Allen, meanwhile, has talked to Thaxton numerous times. The Seminoles would like to sign three linebackers in February.

Thaxton, who also plays basketball, is projected at middle linebacker but is athletic enough to play outside as well. He finished with more than 500 career tackles, which stands as a school record.

Thaxton is an excellent student and is on track to qualify academically.
