Focus 2004

Demiko Goodman's Newnan Cougars had an outstanding 2003 campaign. However, they saw their bid for a state championship end in the semi-finals to eventual Class 5A shampion, Camden County. Goodman's focus has now shifted to recruiting. Do the Seminoles and Bulldogs still hold the advantage?

I still have Georgia and Florida State as my leaders. I'm also looking at schools like Auburn and Clemson," Demiko Goodman said.

Goodman is scheduled to visit Georgia this upcoming weekend. Does he still plan to go?

"Yeah I'm going there on Friday," Goodman said.

"I talked to my track teammate Michael Grant, and he's going to be there as well. I already know Ryan Schnetzer, and some other players on the team so there should be some familiar people. I've only been there once so I want to see the campus, and find out if I feel comfortable."

Has he and Grant talked about attending school with one another?

"We talked about it a little," Goodman said.

"The only school we're both considering is Georgia, and we talked about how good it would be to go to UGA and build their track program up and stuff like that."

When will Demiko take his other visits?

"I'm going to Florida State on January 23rd, and that is the only other one I have scheduled," Goodman said.

"I may visit Clemson or Auburn, but I'm not sure." Goodman hopes to make a decision after his trip to Tallahassee.
