Jax OL Will Make His First Official Trip

This week offensive lineman Cornelius Lewis will be one of a dozen recruits that will take an official visit to Florida State. The Territory.org caught up with 6-foot-3 and 310 pound Jacksonville Raines standout to discuss his upcoming visit.

"I got Florida State this weekend, Lewis said. "And I got North Carolina (1/16), Tennessee (1/23), Auburn (1/27) and Ole Miss (1/30)."

Lewis, who grew up a Florida State fan, is open to all teams that he's visiting. However, he left the door open to possibly committing after his first visit.

"I going to go and see how it goes over there," he said. "Coach Heggins said there's a possibility of early playing time. They have had some injuries and next year they lose some lineman. I think I could get some playing time by my sophomore year."

Next Monday evening, Florida State Head Coach Bobby Bowden will pay him in-home visit.

Lewis also unofficially Florida State twice during the season. He didn't take any other unofficial visits to other schools.

The Jacksonville Raines senior is on track to qualify with a 2.6 grade point average and an 810 on the SAT test. He also has achieved a score of 16 on the ACT.

On Sunday evening The Territory.org will follow up on his visit.
