Five-Star WR Is Visiting Tally

This past weekend, five-star receiver Xavier Carter from Palm Bay (Fla.) impressed many onlookers at the Army All-American All-Star game. The 6-foot-3 and 195 pound star with 4.35 speed was on the receiving end of one of Xavier Lee's long passes. The duo will visit Florida State this weekend. Could the two All-American players end up playing their college ball together in Tallahassee?

"Xavier has it," Carter said. "I'm glad I got to go to the game and have someone like him throwing me the ball. I'm looking for a school that throws the ball a lot. It doesn't have to be deep balls though."

The asked if he was looking to playing for a team with a talented quarterback like Xavier Lee or a Chris Leak.

"No," he said. "All the schools I'm looking at have high division 1A quarterback on their team so that won't be a factor."

Carter told The Territory that the main two factors he's looking for in a school are academics and a program that will let him play both football and track.

"Right now I'm open but will most likely make my decision about a week after my visit to Florida," he said.

Carter has already officially visited LSU and Miami. He'll trip to Florida State this weekend and wrap up things on Florida (1/16).

As a senior Carter has caught 16 touchdowns.

The Palm Bay senior is on track to qualify academically with a 3.3 grade point average and a score of 840 on the SAT test.
