Cornerback Trevor Ford of Miami Northwestern made the most of his visit to Florida State this past weekend. Ford made the eight-hour trek from South Florida with cornerback J.R. Bryant of Miami Killian on Thursday. The two spent some of their time with Ford's God Brother, Seminole track athlete Derrick Baker.

Cornerback Trevor Ford rated his visit to Tallahassee and FSU "a 10 because of everything. The players. The atmosphere."

Ford's host was Clifton Dickson, his former prep teammate at Northwestern.

Ford also said Baker, a sophomore sprinter from Northwestern as well with personal bests of 22.33 in the 200 meters and 47.48 in the 400 meters, plans to walk-on on the FSU football team.

Ford, who is scheduled to visit Miami this weekend, is expected to announce his collegiate decision on Countdown To Signing Day, Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Ford also has become fast friends with Bryant, who had earlier committed to UM but also enjoyed his visit to FSU. Ford said the two have talked about attending the same school.

"Miami and Florida State are still even," Ford told TheTerritory Monday night.

"We really enjoyed the college town (in Tallahassee) and everyone there really gets along. Distance won't be a factor. My parents have told me to go where i want to go. Clifton told me he really likes it there (at FSU)."

Territory recruiting analyst Dave Peters contributed to this report.
