Noles Get Second OL Of The Day

Highly-touted Dumaka Atkins made it official today, selecting the Florida State Seminoles over the Michigan Wolverines. Atkins' decision to attend FSU gives the Seminoles an impressive slam dunk as fellow offensive lineman Geoff Berniard of Louisiana also committed to FSU earlier Monday.

The younger brother of Miami Hurricane Baraka Atkins, Dumaka Atkins is bigger at 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds. While he has played every position along the offensive line as well as defensive tackle, Dumaka Atkins, of Sarasota Booker, is probably earmarked for offensive guard at FSU.

Atkins visited FSU the weekend of Jan. 16 and said at that time he favored the Seminoles. Atkins is fully qualifed with a 3.25 grade-point average and 1,110 on the SAT. He has been clocked at a 4.93 40.

Many folks believed Atkins was earmarked for the Miami Hurricanes before the recruiting process cranked up last summer, but a laughing Atkins said folks were wrong to make that assumption.

In the end, it came down to FSU and Michigan, with the Seminoles, as expected, coming out on top.
