"We've got some real good potential. The key is getting 15 days in with no injuries and improving a little bit everyday. We could have a real solid football team if we can do that."
Practicing for the first time were wide receiver DeCody Fagg and linebacker Barry Wright, who both enrolled early in January. Fagg will have a chance to get plenty of reps at receiver with Craphonso Thorpe, Chris Davis and Willie Reid being held out of spring drills with injuries.
"It didn't take me long to figure out which one he was," said Bowden when asked about Fagg.
"The receivers are all getting better. The quarterbacks looked like they knew what they were doing a lot better and we threw and caught the ball pretty well."
Arizona Cardinal wide receiver Anquan Boldin and Pittsburgh Steeler safety were on hand for Tuesday's practice. Boldin was named the NFL Rookie of the Year and started in the Pro Bowl after setting a rookie receiving record this season.
"It was good to have Anquan back," said Bowden. "The year he had was really something."
Wednesday's practice will begin at 3:15 p.m. and the team will work in shorts. The Seminoles will move into shells (shoulder pads and shorts) for Thursday's session. Practices are closed to the public.
