Florida State (16-5) moved up to No. 16 in this week's Collegiate Baseball poll after going 5-0 last week with mid-week wins over Illinois State and Butler and a three-game sweep of Michigan State over the weekend. The Seminoles wrap up a nine-game homestand this week with a Wednesday contest against Jacksonville and three games against Maryland this weekend in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener.

Florida State freshman right-hander Brian Chambers will make his second career start Wednesday against the Jackonsville Dolphins.

Chambers picked his first win last Wednesday against Butler.

Junior catcher Aaron Cheesman is on a 14-game hitting streak and leads the Seminoles offensively with a .386 batting average. Cheesman is 22-for-48 (.458) during the streak with five doubles, two triples and nine RBI. He has raised his average to .231 to .386.

Jacksonville (10-10)

The Dolphins dropped to .500 on the season after losing two of three to Georgia State last weekend. Jacksonville will make the trip to Tallahassee on Tuesday to take on Florida A&M prior to Wednesday's game at Florida State. SS Pete Clifford (.391, 6 2B, 9 RBI) and C/DH Jon Galui (.375, 1 HR, 6 RBI) lead the Dolphins offensively.

The Florida State-Jacksonville Series Florida State leads the all-time series with Jacksonville 94-30, which dates back to 1964. The two teams have already played twice this year with FSU winning both contests. The Seminoles won 14-9 at Jacksonville on February 15th and 8-3 in Tallahassee on February 16th. Head coach Mike Martin is 58-17 all-time vs. JU.
