Florida State's basketball recruiting class appears to be in good shape. The Seminoles are coming off a banner season under coach Leonard Hamilton, appearing in the NIT Tournament and attracting impressive crowds to the Civic Center. Basketball is fun again in Tallahassee. Still, it appears that one FSU recruit -- Jerome Habel might be contemplaing re-opening his recruitment. Check here for the details.
According to sources close to the situation, senior forward Jerome Habel
is contemplating re-opening his recruitment.
The 6-8 ½, 210-pound Habel committed to Florida State earlier in the season, but has yet to qualify academically. He is currently attending night school classes after his school's basketball team at Marriott Charter was shut down due to violations by the coach and the program.
Habel was previously considering Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, St. John's and USC prior to his commitment to the Seminoles.
Now it appears as though UNLV, with new head man Lon Kruger looking to add a pair of players, will make a push for Habel. Arizona State is also believed to have interest in the athletic shot-blocker who burst onto the scene last summer with the D.C. Blue Devils at the Peach Jam.
