Noles Offer NC Tight End

With the Noles not signing a tight end prospect the past two recruiting class, makes landing two players for the class of 2005 a big priority. Tight end Coach John Lilly has been searching the country for the right fit and it looks like he found a player he likes enough to offer a scholarship.

Everette Brown, a 6-foot-4 and 235 pound tight end/defensive end from Wilson (NC) Beddingfield has been racking up the scholarship offers. He has offers from Florida State, Wake Forest, Duke, Tennessee, Duke, Penn State, North Carolina, East Carolina, Virginia Tech and Kansas State.

"Florida State was by my school last Monday and they offered me," he said "I was kind of surprised. Coach John Lilly told me that they were looking to take two tight ends and that I would be a great fit for them. I plan on camping with Florida State over the summer so I can check out the atmosphere."

Brown told The Insiders.com that he grew up a North Carolina fan.

"North Carolina was my favorite team growing up," he said. "They are up there on my list. My favorites are Florida State, Penn State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Duke and Virginia Tech in no particular order."

In addition to Florida State, Brown will also camp at North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest, Penn State and Tennessee.

As a junior, he caught 24 passes for 400 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 110 tackles and eight sacks.

Brown, who is an excellent student in the classroom, could make a decision before his senior season starts.
