Seminoles Offer Another DB

With a family member already in the fold, Florida State looked again to Jacksonville in an attempt to bolster its defensive secondary. Ed White's Bryan Evans is the latest prospect to recieve an offer from the Seminole staff.

Jacksonville corner Bryan Evans recieved a welcome call Monday afternoon, adding Florida State to his list of offers which already includes Florida, Maryland and West Virginia, among others.

"Coach Odell Haggins called me and left a message saying that I had an offer for a full scholarship if I came to play for FSU," Evans told "Now I have think this all out."

Many believe Evans will follow former Ed White coach Dan Disch, who recently was added to Ron Zook's staff, to Gainesville. Evans says that isn't necessarily the case.

"I've never really liked Florida or followed Florida growing up," he said. "Since childhood I've liked FSU and LSU."

It should be no surprise then that Evans plans to camp at LSU, FSU and UF.

"Those three are my favorites. Right now there is now clear cut leader or loser, though. We'll have to see how the season goes."

Playing early may also be an issue.

"If one team is going to have two corners next season and another is going to have five, that's something to look at," he said.

One plus for FSU is that Evans' cousin Tony Carter has been pushing hard for him to look at playing in the Garnet and Gold.

"What TC says is big. It'd be great to have us both lining up in the backfield together one day."

Evans plans to take in as many rivalry games as his schedule allows this fall. He mentioned the FSU/UM and UF/FSU game as possibilities. Evans hinted interest in Miami and Southern Cal, if offers were tendered.
