Noles Offer NC QB

With the Noles signing two outstanding quarterbacks for the class of 2004, it might be difficult for the Seminole to land a quality one in 2005. However, a 6-foot-2 and 185 pound standout from Laurinburg (NC) Scotland has other ideas.

"Florida State called this afternoon and offered," quarterback Cameron Sexton said. "Florida State signed two good ones last year and I'm going to monitor that situation down there closely. Florida State is a good school and early playing time won't be a factor. There's competition everywhere."

Sexton also has offers from Syracuse, UTEP, Virginia Tech, East Carolina and Wake Forest. Who does he favor?

"Virginia Tech, Florida State and Texas are my three favorite schools," he said. "I love the coaches at Virginia Tech, especially Coach Beamer. He's going to be there for a long time. The Texas quarterback situation is wide open because of having older quarterbacks. Texas is Texas."

This summer Sexton will camp at Virginia Tech, Texas and possibly Florida State

As a junior, Sexton had 1742 yards passing and 17 touchdowns. He rushed for another five touchdowns.

What makes him a special player?

"My speed, my ability to read defenses and the ability to make all the throws," he said.

Sexton is an excellent student who is on track to qualify academically.

He will make a decision after his season.
