Good News For The Noles

This past February, safety Dee McClure of Adamsville (AL) Minor signed with his childhood favorite Florida State. The only thing holding back the 5-foot-10 and 185 pound standout was a qualifying test score.

I got a 20 on the ACT," he said. "I found out last Thursday and I'm relieved to finally make it. I'm ready to play some football."

Last week McClure called recruiting coordinator John Lilly with the good news.

"He was really exited to hear the news," he said.

McClure will report to Tallahassee on June 20th for informal workouts.

"My goals are going to get better and learn the system," he said "I don't know if I'm going to redshirt or not. If it happens, I'll be fine with it."

Last spring at the Auburn Nike camp, he ran 4.54 40-yard dash time and benched 185 pounds 23 times. He also ran a 4.44 shuttle with a 30.7 vertical leap.

As a junior, he recorded 44 tackles and six interceptions.
