Noles Offer South Florida Standout

This year Florida State will most likely sign a couple of quality defensive end prospects to fill a huge need. Last week Coach John Lilly offered a linebacker from South Florida that could grow into a big-time defensive end. In addition to the Seminoles, several other programs have tendered him a scholarship offer.

"I have offers from Florida, Alabama, Pittsburgh, Florida State, Miami and North Carolina State," Gerald Williams of Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) Boyd Anderson said.

"Last Thursday Coach Lilly called me to offer me a full scholarship to Florida State."

Right now Williams has a top five of Miami, NC State, Florida State, LSU, and Georgia.

"Florida State is recruiting me as a defensive end/linebacker and Miami wants me as a linebacker," he said.

This summer the 6-foot-4 ½ and 225 pound standout will camp at Miami, Florida and North Carolina State.

Williams is an excellent student who currently carries a 2.9 grape point average. This upcoming Saturday he has plans to take the SAT.

As a junior, he recorded 132 tackles, six sacks, and four interceptions. He has a bench press of 315 pounds and squats 420.
