Regional Insider: Day 3

Thanks to a ninth-inning meltdown by Wichita State, FSU will hit the road for Super Regional action. The Seminoles will take on Arkansas starting Friday in a best of three series.

The Shockers - in the driver's seat of the Regional - took a 9-6 advnantage into the ninth inning of the first game before the Hogs rallied for five.

In the second game, Arkansas needed just three hits to dispatch WSU 4-3. The Shockers committed six errors in the nightcap.

The rest of the Super Regional sites will be announced on the 11 p.m. Sports Center on ESPN.

With the game out of hand, Martin rewarded two of his senior pitchers with chances to bat. Kevin Lynch, who homered in a 27-3 win at Wake Forest earlier in the month, flew out to center and played third for three innings.

Rhett James, yesterday's winning pitcher, doubled to right-center to drive home a pari of runs. Next time up, James was brushed back by UCF reliever Derek Abriola. After a few choice words for catcher Ryan Bono, benches cleared. There were no ejections. Much to the enjoyment of the Dick Howser crowd Matt Ray dropped James' pop to second one pitch later.
