Are Noles On Top For Standout WR?

Tampa (Fla.) Middleton is the home of top wide receivers in the country. When The Hot 100 list in released later in the week, the 6-foot-0 and 185 pound standout with 4.4 40-yard dash speed, will most likely be on it. He has his eyes on the big-three in Florida.

Wide Receiver O.J. Murdock has emerged as one of the top offensive threat in the country. He has offers from pretty much every program east of the Mississippi river, including Florida, Florida State and Miami.

"My favorite schools are Florida State, Miami and Auburn," he said. "Florida State has a good depth chart and Bobby Bowden isn't going anywhere. They have a great staff. I'll be camping with them during their first session. I like Miami also. They also have a good depth chart plus they throw the ball as much as Florida and Florida State."

Murdock has bumped his childhood favorite Florida down his list for the time being. He going to take a wait and see approach.

"It's a stability thing," he said. "Nobody knows if Coach Ron Zook will be around next year or not. I'm going to evaluate things as the year goes on. I'll be camping with them as well. I've always liked Florida from a wide receivers standpoint. They throw the ball a lot."

Murdock is one of the fastest prospects in the state. The Tampa Middleton standout finished third this past track season in both the 100 and 200 meters. In both races he lost to Xavier Carter (LSU) from Melbourne (Fla.) Palm Bay High School.

As a junior, he caught 33 passes for 800 yards.

Murdock is on track to qualify academically with a score of 920 on the SAT test.
