Noles Trail Notre Dame For Clearwater OL

Clearwater (Fla.) Catholic is the home of one of the top offensive lineman in the state of Florida. The 6-foot-4 and 290 pound standout has the offers to back up his hype. Florida State along with several other programs has offered him a scholarship.

"I've got written offers on paper from North Carolina State, Florida, Georgia, Clemson, and Louisville," offensive guard A.J. Trump said. "Maryland said one is one the way and I got verbal offers Florida State and South Florida."

This summer Trump will be quite busy by attending several football camps.

"I leave on the 28th for Notre Dame and I hope to be back in time to attend the Down & Dirty camp which is on the 1st," he said. "I'm also going to attend the Florida one day camp and I'm going to try and make it to Florida State's camp."

Trump grew up a huge Florida State fan. Are the Seminoles the leaders?

"I would say Notre Dame is on top followed by Florida State," he said. "After them I like Florida, Georgia and Maryland."

What does he like about his favorites?

"Notre Dame is great and I could get a great education there," he said. "I just need to decide if it's too far away from home or not and I need to figure out if I can play in that weather. I grew up in Florida my whole life. If I have a pretty good visit up there, it probably will be the place for me."

"I'm been a Florida State fan my whole life," he said. "I love Tallahassee and Bobby Bowden. It's going to be tough on me because I grew up a huge Florida State fan but I think I can get a better education at Notre Dame."

"I know Florida is going to have a great team this year," he said. "They have a very good program."

Trump told The that he will most likely officially visit Notre Dame, Florida State, Florida, Maryland, and either Georgia or South Florida.

He's an excellent student in the classroom with a 3.0 grade point average and an 1110 on the SAT test.

What set's him about from the competition?

"I have real quick feet," he said. "I rely on my felt more than my size."

Trump runs the 40-yard dash in the 4.9 range. He also can bench up to 355 pounds with a squat of 450 pounds.
