New Jersey Standout Likes Defense

Early in the recruiting process, the Noles and the Gators were in a two way tie for a four-star defensive tackle standout from New Jersey. Now there's a slight change in his leader board. Where do the Noles stand?

"The only two places that I know that I will visit officially for sure is Georgia and Florida," Kade Weston of Little Silver (NJ) Red Bank Regional. "I went to the Georgia football camp and the people there were very nice. I like their coaches and facilities. I really like the coach that's recruiting me from Florida. He tells me that Gainesville would be a perfect town for me."

Why did the Noles drop as one of his leaders?

"Someone from my family read on a Florida State message board that I would probably be moved to offensive line," he said. "I want to play defense only in college. I would consider Florida State stronger if I were to play defense there."

What kind of player is Weston on the field?

"I'm very physical and I come off the ball well," he said.

In addition to working hard in weight room, Weston is pushing himself to in the classroom as well.

"I'm taking some summer school classes," he said. "I'm trying to get my grade point average over 3.0."

As a junior, he recorded 114 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss and 14 sacks.
