Florida State returns to Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday afternoon for another preseason scrimmage. The Seminoles are pleased with their progress thus far, though nagging injuries have kept a number of players sidelined. The Florida State Seminoles ended their two-a-day practices inside on Friday night due to a thunderstorm.

The offense and defense held a walk-through for 45 minutes in the Turf Room of the Moore Athletic Center in preparation for Saturday's scheduled scrimmage in Doak Campbell Stadium.

FSU practiced in full pads for 22 periods Friday morning, stressing position, seven-on-seven, 11-on-11 and goalline drills. Senior Kyler Hall recorded an interception in the pass skeleton drills (seven-on-seven).

Freshman Lamar Lewis provided another highlight in the 11-on-11 drills as he took a screen pass from quarterback Chris Rix and went just over 30 yards. Rix was three-of-five passing during the drill and junior Kamerion Wimbley recorded a sack.

In goalline drills, the offense scored on 2-of-5 attempts. One score came on an end around run by freshman Kenny O'Neal and the second on a pass from Rix to receiver DeCody Fagg.

A number of Seminoles continued to be sidelined by injuries. The offensive line has been struck the hardest.

Senior guard Bobby Meeks is sidelined with a high ankle sprain. Although Ron Lunford returned to practice after missing time with an ankle sprain, freshmen Cornelius Lewis and Jacky Claude have been taking snaps with the first team.

Senior center David Castillo also has been held out as a precautionary measure. John Frady has returned after missing the opening of practice with lower back pain, while Brian Ross, who worked with the first team in Wednesday's scrimmage, sat out Friday as well.

Senior split guard Matt Meinrod also missed Friday's morning session, moving sophomore Cory Niblock into the starter's role. Meinrod is expected to play in Saturday's scrimmage.

Tight end Matt Henshaw suffered a bruised collar bone in Wednesday's scrimmage and was in a non-contact jersey Friday.
