FSU Commitment Out for the Year

Last May Florida State got a verbal commitment from one of the top running backs in the state of Texas. The-5-8 and 165 pound Warrick Dunn clone got off to a rocky start for his season with a serious injury.

I tore my ACL," Russell Ball of Le Marque (TX) said.  "I was returning the second kickoff and I was trying to cut outside when my knee gave out.  Before that I broke off a 50-yard run."


Ball has already made a call to Florida State to let them know about the injury.


"I called them and told them about it," he said.  "Coach told me to keep my head up."


Ball told TheInsiders.com that he has no plans to visit any other school besides Florida State .


"I'm still committed and I want to take my official visit to Florida State for a game," he said. 


The Texas standout runs a 4.32 40-yard dash speed, has been burning up the competition in the state of Texas . As a junior the La Marque (TX) native led his team to a state title by rushing for 1,296 yards and 15 touchdowns.
