Noles Offer Five-Star DE

With Florida State's huge need at defensive end, it's no surprise that the Noles recently offered The No. 2 rated pass-rusher in the country. With the Seminole offer in hand, the 6-foot-6 and 240 pound standout now has a total of 18 scholarship offers.

"The Florida State defensive end coach called me last night and offered," Justin Mincey of Folkston (GA) Charlton County said.  "We have the same logo as Florida State on our helmets and they were one of my favorite teams growing up.  Larry Smith use to play there and he's a friend of mine.  Florida State is tied with Georgia , Florida , Miami and Tennessee ."

Other schools to call him on first day that coaches are allowed to contact recruits were Florida , Tennessee and Georgia .

I like the Florida coaching staff," he said.  "They don't beat around the bush and they get straight to the point.  Georgia has the tradition.  I've been a fan of them since day one.  Miami is a great program and they develop their players.  Tennessee is a great program also."

Next week Charlton County has an open date and Mincey will get the opportunity to watch two of his favorite teams square off in Miami and Florida State .

"I think Miami gets Florida State this year," he said.  "They have a lot of talent."

Mincey will take in several different college games this year.

"I going to several of the Florida home games this year," he said.  "I'm also going to go to Tallahassee for the Florida/Florida State game."

The South Georgia standout has unique combination of size and speed.
"Some people compare me to Jovan Kearse because of my size and speed," he said.

Last year as a junior, he led his team to state finals by recorded 86 tackles and nine sacks.
