Bowden Family Requests Scholarship Fund Donations
Tallahassee, Fla. - The Bowden family released the following information through the FSU Sports Information Office in response to inquiries about expressions of sympathy.
The Bowden family prefers that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John and Bowden Madden Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The fund has been established in honor of John Allen Madden and Bowden Allen Madden and will benefit students at Choctawhatchee High School in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. John Madden was the father of Bowden and the former son-in-law of Florida State University head football coach Bobby Bowden. Madden played football at FSU for Coach Bowden, starring on the 1980 and '81 Orange Bowl teams. His son, Bowden Madden, was a center at Choctawhatchee High.
Donations may be made to the John and Bowden Madden Scholarship Fund c/o Compass Bank, 198 Eglin Parkway, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida 32548.
