Four-Star LB Is Getting It Done

Pensacola (Fla.) Washington is the home of one of the top defensive players in the state of Florida. The 6-foot-4 and 225 pound four-star prospect's phone has been ringing off the hook.

"Every team in the ACC and SEC conference has already called," linebacker Jon Demps said. "Florida State, Florida, LSU and Miami have all called."

Despite all the recruiting distractions Demps has been able to focus on the field.

"Last Friday I had 18 tackles, a pass deflection and a forced fumble," he said. "This week we got Panama City and I plan on racking up some sacks."

LSU and Florida State were the two team that s he camp with over the summer and it looks like they will battle to the end for his services. However, don't count out Miami or Florida.

"I went to the LSU game last weekend," Demps said. "My brother didn't play because of injury. Florida State is in my top two or three. I also like Miami, LSU, Florida, Ole Miss and Tennessee."

The Panhandle standout grew up a fan of Miami but he will miss the Friday night contest on TV.

"If I can't watch the game live, I don't want to tape it," he said. "I'll just let coach Andrews (FSU) and Soldinger (Miami) tell me about it when they call. I don't know who will win the game but my homeboy Barry Wright says they are going to get Miami this year."
