Selling The 'Noles

Last spring the Seminole football team got a verbal commitment from one of the top athletes in the State of Georgia. This past weekend, he was in Tallahassee to watch the Florida State win over Clemson. The 6-foot-2 and 220 standout was doing his best sales job on another top Georgia prospect.

"I loved everything about the game," Matt Dunham of Columbus (GA) Pacelli said.  "I'm coming back for a few more Florida State home games.  I want to see the Florida State/Florida game for sure."

There were several top recruits also in attendance.  Dunham hit it off with The No.2 ranked linebacker in the country in Tray Blackmon.

"Trey is real cool," Dunham said.  "I met him at the Florida State camp over the summer.  I sat next to him at the game and I'm trying to get him to come to Florida State with me.  I think he likes Florida State a lot."

Dunham plays safety and running back for his high school team and he could project at several different positions in college, including defensive end, linebacker or running back.  Last Friday night, he had a dominating performance on the field by rushing for 100 yards and two touchdowns.  He's also intercepted two touchdowns for scores only to be called back for penalties.

As a junior, Dunham rushed the ball 121 times for 1,620 yards, which is a 13.3 yards per carry average, and he scored 28 touchdowns. He also caught four passes for 87 yards and returned two punts for touchdowns and those are just his offensive statistics.  On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 111 tackles and six interceptions.

Dunham hasn't qualified academically yet.
