Where do the Noles Stand?

What do schools like Florida State, Virginia Tech, North Carolina State, Penn State, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee all have in common? They all want a shot at The Insiders. No. 12 ranked defensive end in the country. Where do the Noles stand?

"I'm still talking with my coach and parents about where I'll possible officially visit but I'm thinking Florida State, Virginia Tech, Georgia and Tennessee," Everett Brown of Wilson (NC) Beddingfield said. "Georgia offered me a couple of weeks ago."

Brown told The Insiders.com that he's still strongly considering the in-state schools (North Carolina and North Carolina State) but he won't visit them officially due to being so close to home.

So far Brown, who is being recruited by some schools as a tight end as well as a defensive end, has made it to several games for unofficial visits.

"I was supposed to visit Miami for the Florida State game but didn't make it because the game got postponed due to weather," he said. "I've already seen Virginia Tech/North Carolina State game and Ohio State/North Carolina State game. I have plans to watch Miami and Florida State when they come up to play North Carolina State."

Speaking of the Seminoles and Hurricanes, there was a report that they were slipping with the four-star standout.

"Miami has slipped down my list because they don't seem to be recruiting me anymore," he said. "Florida State is right up there at the top. I have a great relationship with Coach Lilly and Coach Haggins. They haven't signed a tight end in the last four years so there would be some early playing time. They are also starting to recruit me as a defensive end as well."

Brown is having an outstanding senior season on both sides of the ball. On offense he has caught 18 passes for 300 yards and eight touchdowns in seven games played. He has also recorded eight sacks from his defensive end position.

As a junior, Brown had 110 tackles and eight sacks on defense along with 24 catches for 400 yards on offense.

Brown will take his official visits in December and January and decide some in January.
