Four-Star LB Likes Tallahassee

A four-star linebacker made an unofficial visit to Florida State for the Clemson game. The 6-foot-0 and 228 pound standout has future plans to check out the Noles again.

"I liked the unofficial trip," Derrick Nicholson of Winston Salem (NC) Mount Tabor. "I liked the play on the field but what really impressed me were the new facilities. They are top-notch. They (Florida State) always exceed my expectations."

Nicholson, the younger brother of Seminole starting weak-side linebacker A.J. Nicholson, told that he will most likely be back in town for the Virginia and Florida games. He also checked out Virginia Tech last weekend.

"It had a good atmosphere and the stadium was very loud," he said.

Nicholson has narrowed his list of schools down to seven luck schools.

"My top seven are Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, North Carolina Clemson, Virginia Tech and Georgia," he said.

The 12 ranked linebacker in the country has helped lead his team to a perfect 6-0 record by recording 92 tackles, 16 tackles for a loss and eight sacks.

"I'm about 60 tackles short of 600 career tackles," he said.
