Miami Commitment is Looking at FSU
"I consider myself a soft commitment and I'm going to take all five of my official visits," safety Randy Phillips said. "I will officially visit North Carolina State, Florida State, Ohio State, Miami and I'm not sure of the fifth school yet."
Phillips, who grew up a Miami fan, has concerns with their depth chart.
"I'm about 80% sure I'll stick with Miami but I'll have to see if players like Greg Threat leave early or not," he said.
The team that has the best shot to upset Miami is the Florida State Seminoles.
"I went for a visit to Florida State over the summer and it was great," he said. "Of all the teams I'm considering Florida State has the best shot after Miami. They lose like four guys in their secondary."
Philips, who is on track to fully qualify academically, is having a good year on the field.
In three games, he's recorded 12 tackles and an interception. On offense he has scored five touchdowns.
