New Name Emerges on the FSU Board

Florida State has several top-notch linebackers on their board that will most likely be wearing the Garnet & Gold before it's all said and done. However, there's a new name that has caught the Nole coaching staff's eyes that could be too good to pass up.

"Coach Allen of Florida State has been coming around lately," linebacker Antonio Clay of Jeffersonville (GA) Twiggs County said. "I'm heading down to Tallahassee this weekend to watch them play Virginia. I haven't been offered by Florida State yet but I think they will on my visit."

Right now the four-star prospect has a top four of Miami, Georgia, Oklahoma and Florida State.

"If Florida State offers, they will be even with all of the other teams," he said.

What factors will Scout.com's No. 15 ranked linebacker in country consider when choosing a school?

"I'm not really concerned about depth," he said. "I now that I'm good enough to get playing time. The basic factor in considering a school will be my relationship with my position coach and head coach. I want to choose a school that I will be happy at if I can't play football due to an injury."

The 6-foot-2 and 220 pound is averaging 12 tackles a game in his senior season. In five games played, he has recorded five sacks and five forced fumbles.

Clay is an excellent student who is on track to qualify academically.
