Jax WR Visits Noles

One of the most underrated players in the state of Florida hails from Jacksonville (Fla.) Wolfson. The 6-foot-1 and 170 pound wide receiver has been on a tear. This past Friday he helped lead his team to victory over Jacksonville Sandalwood with a 190 yards receiving and a couple of scores. On Saturday, he took his first unofficial visit to the campus of Florida State.

"It went real good," wide receiver Rod Owens said. "The highlight of the visit was the people and the environment. The environment is big-time like football in Jacksonville."

Owens got the tour of the campus and hung out with former Jacksonville Mandarin high school standout Tony Carter.

"I know Tony Carter from Jacksonville and he told me Florida State is a real nice place to be," he said.

The All-First Coast standout as a junior isn't sure were his next trip will be but it sounds like the Noles are an easy bet to get an official visit from him down the road.

"Florida State is number one or two on my list," he said. "The other schools that I'm considering are Florida, Maryland, South Carolina and Tennessee."

Owens is an excellent student who is on track to qualify academically.
