Did Noles Offer Another Defensive Standout?

One of the heaviest recruited linebackers in the country made the short drive down to Tallahassee from Jeffersonville (GA) Twiggs County for an unofficial visit. The four-star standout was looking for a Seminole offer. Did he get one?

"Florida State offered me on my visit," 6-foot-1 and 210 pound linebacker Antonio Clay said. "I didn't know what to expect since it was my first time to see Florida State. On the field they did what I expected though. I would rate my trip and eight and half. I didn't get a chance to talk to Coach Bowden but it probably was because he was very busy getting ready for the game."

Clay got the chance to meet a few of the fellow recruits in linebacker Dan Foster and Antonio Smith.

"Dan was real cool," he said. "He said he might go to Florida State. The player from Pahokee likes Miami."

The Scout.com's No. 15th ranked linebacker in the country has already visited Oklahoma and Georgia officially. Up next for him is an official visit to Clemson this weekend and an official visit to Miami on November 6th.
I want to commit to sometime in December," he said. "I probably won't visit Florida State officially unless I commit to them."

Right now the Noles are even with Miami, Georgia and Oklahoma for his services.

Last Friday, he recorded 17 tackles, two for a loss and a forced fumble.

Clay is an excellent student who is on track to qualify academically.
