Noles Catch the Eye of Five-Star Recruit

With the firing of head coach Ron Zook, it could affect the decisions of several recruits considering playing football in Gainesville. Scout.com caught up with one recruit that is considering both Florida and Florida State.

Justin Mincey
, a Scout com five-star defensive line prospect, has been a frequent unofficial visitor to Gainesville. The Charlton County senior has attended games when the Gators squared off against LSU and Kentucky. Will the firing of Head Coach Ron Zook make a difference with him?

"Nothing has changed yet," he said. "They are still on my list. I'm going to have to wait and see who the next head coach will be."

Mincey is currently considering Miami, Florida State, Florida, Tennessee and Georgia. Have any of those schools caught his eye?

"Florida State has," he said. "They have two starting defensive ends there that are seniors. I could make an impact there."

Mincey told Scout.com that he will most likely attend the Georgia/Georgia Tech game and the Florida/Florida State game.

"I wanted to go watch the Florida/Georgia game this weekend but I can't make it," he said.
I
n nine games played, Mincey estimates around 30-40 tackles for a loss with three sacks.

"We've only played one game against a passing offense," he said. "That's the game where I picked up my three sacks. Most teams that we play run the wing-t and run away from my side."
