Are the Noles on the Verge of Offering Miami Ath?

One of the top athletes from South Florida and one of the top pass-rushers in the Southeast has emerged on the Seminole Football board. Are the Noles close to offering this 6-foot-0 and 223 pound linebacker/defensive end from Miami (Fla.) Northwestern?

br>"Florida State is real close to offering me," Dustin Forston said. "I'm trying to set up a visit with them in late December or early January. Coach Colzie is the one that's recruiting me from Florida State."

In an earlier report done by Scout.com, Fortson indicated that he probably would commit to the Noels if offered. What exactly does he like about the Seminoles?

"Florida State plays up to six linebackers in a game," he said. "They have two sets off linebackers that rotate. I'm going to come up for the Florida and Florida State game."

Forston has two former Northwestern players (Clifton Dickson and Trevor Ford) on the Seminoles roster and they talk with him on a regular basis.

"They said the atmosphere is very good and they like playing up there," he said. "They tell me to come on up and by a part of the team."

Others teams in the hunt for the South Florida standout are Kansas, Auburn and Pittsburgh.

"I have an official visit with Kansas on (12/7)," he said. "Kansas is a good team. They are a couple of good athletes a way from a great team. Auburn is a big school that's No. 3 in the BCS now. I probably could have an impact there. Pittsburgh has been recruiting me since my 11th grade year. I have a good relationship with Coach Partridge. He's been real straight with me."

What will colleges be getting in the Scout.com's three-star pass-rusher?

"I have a lot speed," he said. "I'm a sideline to sideline player.

Scout.com's Recruiting Analysis Larry Bluestein is in full agreement with Forston's assessment.

"He's a big-time player," Blustein said. "Whoever ends up with him will get 12 sacks a year from this kid. He has amazing speed and strength."

In nine games this season, Forston has recorded 48 tackles and 12 sacks. As a junior he accumulated 39 tackles and 21 sacks.

He's an excellent student who is on track to qualify academically.
