Thornton led the Seminoles with 16 points as he made seven of 12 shots from the field. He also added seven rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot.
Adam Waleskowski finished with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting and a game-high 11 rebounds (eight defensive). Deigo Romero added 10 points and eight rebounds for Florida State, which out rebounded the Panteras 51-28.
Galloway also added two steals in 24 minutes of play. The freshmen backcourt duo of Ralph Mims and Isaiah Swann combined for 39 minutes off the bench. Mims scored 14 points on four-of-eight shooting, and Swann added four points and a game-high five assists.
Junior Diego Romero made his long awaited Seminole debut as he scored 10 points, pulled down eight rebounds and had one steal.
Romero quickly shook the rust from his one-year hiatus from the court as he scored the Seminoles' first two points on a jumper from inside the paint. He made five of nine shots from the field.
Romero missed the entire 2003-04 season after he was initially declared ineligible by the NCAA before winning reinstatement in January.
He decided to redshirt the entire season and has two full seasons remaining to play in his collegiate career. Florida State outscored Panamericana 54-17 after halftime behind 53.5 percent shooting.
FSU did struggle slightly, however, in the first half, connecting on 12-of-35 field goals. Florida State held its only exhibition opponent to .304 shooting from the field including a .273 mark from the 3-point line.
The Seminoles' defense forced 28 turnovers and earned 12 steals.
The Seminoles open the regular season at home Nov.19 against Texas Southern.
Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
