South Florida DT Takes in FSU Game

One of the top defensive tackles in the Southeast made the drive from Plantation (Fla.) to Tallahassee to watch the Sunshine showdown between the Noles and the Gators. What were his thoughts on his unofficial visit?

"It was pretty good," defensive tackle Jeffery Owens said. "I really enjoyed myself. I would rate my trip an eight. It was a good game and I liked how the fans supported the team."

Was the 6-foot-2 and 275 pound four-star standout turned off by the Noles close loss?

"A little," he said. "But that's football. Anybody can beat anyone on any given day."

Owens will officially visit Florida State on January 28th. He will also visit Georgia this weekend, Oklahoma on December 17th and Miami on January 21st.

"I'm pretty wide open now," he said. "It's going to be a tough decision but I'm sure I'll make the right decision."

Owens finished his senior season by recording 90 tackles, 30 tackles for a loss and ten sacks.

He has been selected to play in the Florida/California All-Star game this January.
