Daytona TE Has Two Visits Set

One of Florida State's biggest needs is at the tight end position. The last few years, the Garnet & Gold has struggled to land a serviceable player at that position. For the class of 2005, the Seminole coaching staff has their eyes set on a 6-foot-3 and 235 pound standout from Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland. What's the latest?

"I have only two visits set," tight end Brian Ellis said. "I have Florida State set on (1/7) and Tennessee (1/14). I would also like to visit Florida and LSU."

Florida State and Tennessee are two teams that have stayed in-touch with the three star-star standout on a regular basis. However, the team that he has been favoring Florida hasn't called in three weeks.

"Florida State and Tennessee talk about the same things," he said. "I grew up a fan of Florida State and Tennessee is a young, talented team. The old Florida coaching threw to the tight end. I haven't heard from the new staff yet."

Ellis told Scout.com that he wouldn't mind attending school with one of his teammates but that it won't be a factor.

His teammate five-star defensive back Avery Atkins will make their visit to Tallahassee together.

As a senior, Ellis caught 27 passes for 350 yards and six touchdowns.
