Reggie Nelson Update

Two weeks ago the Seminoles got an official visit from Coffeyville (KS) JUCO All-American safety Reggie Nelson. Last weekend the former Palm Bay standout visited the team he committed to out of high school in the Florida Gators. There's been reports from other recruiting services that the 6-foot-0 and 175 pound safety is torn between the schools. What's the latest?

After talking several sources close to his recruitment, including in Brevard Country, Gainesville and Tallahassee, The Territory.org believes to have the lowdown on his situation.

According to our sources, Nelson was not happy with the firing of Florida Head Coach Ron Zook, but the retaining of defensive coordinator Charlie Strong was a key factor in the Gators favor. In 2003, The Florida defensive coordinator was the coach responsible for his recruitment to Florida.

We have learned that that Nelson has indeed committed to Florida last weekend and he's just waiting on an admission problem that should be cleared shortly after Christmas before faxing his letter of intent to Florida.

If the problem isn't cleared up, then Nelson would choose the Seminoles. According to my source in the Palm Bay area, the admission problem will most likely be cleared up.
