Q & A with Tim Pickett

This evening The Territory.org's Chris Milton caught up with former Seminole All-American Tim Pickett for a short Q & A.

(on what he is doing right now)

I'm just trying to stay in shape because I know something good is going to come. I don't ever doubt myself. I have a workout coming up with the Clippers in a couple of days. Hopefully that'll work out and I can land there. Staying in Daytona working out at my former junior college back home.

(on FSU's team this season)

This is the first time I've had a chance to come see them play. I'm very excited. I'm seeing a lot of new faces. I'm seeing my number. This team is coming together. I like what I'm seeing.

(on Von Wafer, who wears his old #22)

He's a great catch-and-shoot player. He's a guy that, once he gets in a rhythm, he's tough to stop. He was doing that last year when I was here…he was very competitive. I want going to back down to anybody and I think that rubbed off on him. He loves a challenge. I told him to keep moving and keep moving without the ball. Be active.

(on playing in Europe)

I was about to but I decided not to. Hopefully somebody can use me around the league. I worked my butt off the past two years here so I'm not going to give up.

(on time with New Orleans Hornets)

I felt like it was a learning experience there. Some things caught me off guard…the basketball I.Q. was at a different level. It made me look as basketball in a totally different aspect. Going from college to the NBA I had to learn all over again - learning what you need to work on and what you can do to help the ballclub.

I'm a rookie and there's a lot of new things I'm learning. I'm learning you have to wait for your time to be called on. I'm just trying to be ready for when I get that call. I got kind of frustrated but with the learning experience but no I use it as motivation. This is another chapter in my life and I'm going to keep working hard, hopefully it will pay off. Anything can happen.

I'm just trying to stay in shape because I know something good is going to come. I don't ever doubt myself.
