Noles Land Jacksonville WR

One of the most underrated players in the state of Florida said yes to Bobby Bowden and verbally committed to the Noles.

"I thought it was the best place for me," Rod Owens of Jacksonville Wolfson said. "Bobby Bowden said he was looking forward to me playing for him."

What was the highlight of his visit?

It was just hanging out with the players," he said. "I got to hang out with Leon Washington and Tony Carter I would rate my visit a nine."

Wolfson Head Coach Ron Reagan knows how special of a player and person Florida State will get.

"He always makes the first man miss every time," Reagan said. "He's a competitor that hates to lose. I don't know two people in this world that doesn't like him. He's such a good kid and player."

Owens was selected to the All-First Coast Team as a junior and a senior. In last two seasons played, he caught 103 passes for over 2,000 yards receiving with 31 touchdowns.

Owens is an accomplished track star who has won several state championships in track, including 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and the long jump.

He is an excellent student who is on track to qualify academically.
