Noles and Tide Battle for DE

Florida State is a heated recruiting battle with the Alabama Crimson Tide over a 6-foot-6 and 235 pound defensive end from Prattville (AL). Last weekend, he took an official visit to Alabama and this upcoming weekend, The Seminole will get their chance to try and impress him.

"I had a blast on my visit to Alabama," Bobby Greenwood said. "I was blown away by everything. My host was Kyle Tatum."

Was his visit good enough to put the Tide on top?

"You could say that," he said. "It's real close with Florida State though."

Greenwood has already been to Florida State unofficially several times, including for the Alabama-Birmingham and Virginia game.

"When you walk into the stadium at Florida State, it just blows you away," he said. "The facilities are really good and I like the position coach Jody Allen. He's gone way out of his way to recruit me and he has a great personality."

After his visit to Florida State this upcoming weekend, he'll visit Auburn on (1/21). Greenwood plans on making a decision shortly after his last visit.

"It will come down to how I fit into a program and comfort level," Greenwood said.

Greenwood's family, who are originally from Florida, didn't grow up Seminole fans.

"My mom and dad actually met in Gainesville," he said. "My dad is a big Gator fan."

Greenwood was named 6A lineman of the year in the state of Alabama after finishing his senior season with 120 tackles and 19 sacks.
