Did Noles Offer South Florida WR?

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas is the home of one of the top wide receivers in the state. Recently, the 6-foot-1 and 175 pound standout has picked up some very impressive offers. Did the Noles finally offer? "

"Yesterday, Coach Lilly of Florida State called and offered me a scholarship," Richard Goodman said. "Coach told me to take my time and don't worry about anything because my scholarship will be there. I also got an offer from Oklahoma. They want me to come in before my Florida State visit."

Goodman has shuffled his visit schedule around. He will visit North Carolina State (1/21) and Florida State on (1/28).

"I plan on visiting Oklahoma mid-week just before my Florida State visit," he said.

What does he like about the Seminoles?

"I grew up a fan of all the Florida schools." he said. "I like the fact that they are a state school that puts a lot of wide receivers into the NFL. They lose three receivers in Craphonso Thorpe, Dominic Robinson and Chauncey Stovall so there will be a chance for early playing time there. I also like that they are in the ACC."

There will be several factors that he considers before making a decision on where to hang his hat for the next four to five years of his life.

"Comfort, the athletic program, academics and atmosphere will be factors," he said. "I'm looking for someplace that I can feel comfortable once the season is over."

Goodman is down to Auburn, Florida State, North Carolina State and Oklahoma. What will he bring to the table of the lucky team who signs him on February 2nd?

"I think yards after the catch is my biggest strength," he said. "I'm also very consistent with my route-running and hands. I also can return punts and kicks."

As a senior, he caught 40 passes for 501 and seven touchdowns. He also returned three kicks for scores.

Goodman is an excellent student who is on track to qualify academically.
