Four-Star DB Will Visit FSU Next Weekend

A month ago, a four-star defensive back who played his high school football this year in Pensacola, has transferred back home to La Marque (TX). The 5-foot-11 and 175 pound Alabama commitment has also decided to visit Florida State with two of his old high school teammates.

"I transferred back to LaMarque," defensive back Clarence Ward said. "I'm going to visit Florida State next weekend with Russell Ball and Korey Mangum. We fly out on Friday for Tallahassee."

How firm is he on his Alabama commitment?

"I'm still committed to Alabama and that' still my first choice," he said. "However, I wouldn't be visiting Florida State if they didn't have a shot. I'm going to see what they got to offer."

In five games played at Pensacola, Ward recorded 53 tackles, one interception and eight pass breakups.

As a junior, he recorded 93 tackles, five interceptions and four fumble recoveries (three defensive touchdowns).
