Seminoles Land Four-Star DB

Over the weekend Florida State lost one of the top defensive backs in the country when Miami (Fla.) Coral Reef Dorian Munroe changed his commitment to Florida. However, the Seminoles more than made up for the loss by securing a safety prospect from La Marque (TX).

"I'm going to sign with Florida State," Four-star safety Clarence Ward said. "I already told the coaches that I was coming. I've always liked Florida State and this was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

One of Florida State's top recruiters is linebacker coach Kevin Steele and he reeled in another big-fish.

"Coach Steele is really cool and a great coach," he said.

Ward's will visit Florida State officially this upcoming weekend with two of his old teammates in Russell Ball and Korey Mangum.

"I'm going to try and get Korey to join Russell and me in Tallahassee." he said.

Ward, who touts his strength as coverage, recorded 53 tackles, one interception and eight pass breakup as a senior in Pensacola.

As a junior, he recorded 93 tackles, five interceptions and four fumble recoveries (three defensive touchdowns).
