Florida State has been in hot pursuit of what many consider the top defensive tackle in the state. The 6-foot-2 and 275 pound standout from Plantation is a verbal commitment. However, this weekend he visited the Noles to see if they had more to offer than Georgia.

"I had a great trip to Florida State," defensive tackle Jeff Owens said. "I would rate it a 9.5 and Florida State made up some ground on Georgia. The highlight of my trip was the banquets because it was cool too see the players get recognized for their efforts."

Owens, who will make his decision on National Signing day between Florida State and Georgia, told The Territory that he has already made his mind up.

When did he make his mind up?

I made it up today," he said.

The South Florida Standout was hosted by Willie Jones and he also hung out with defensive tackle Chris Bradwell.
