Noles Land Army All-American

Today, the tradition lives on when Army All-American linebacker Derek Nicholson selected Florida State over North Carolina and Texas on ESPN News.

Nicholson, who is from Winston Salem (NC) Mt. Tabor, will join his older brother A.J. next season. The older Nicholson is the starting weak-side linebacker for the Seminoles.

The No.8 rated linebacker in the country eclipsed the 500 career tackles mark in mid-season of senior year and recorded well over 170 tackles for the third year in a row. As a junior, Nicholson had 181 tackles, 27 tackles for a loss, three picks and ten sacks.

The future Seminoles was selected as the MVP for the east squad in the Amry All-American game by recording nine tackles and three quarterback pressures.

Nicholson carries a 3.2 GPA and has a 19 ACT. He bench presses 340 pounds, squats 500 and has a vertical jump of 32-inches.
