Q & A with RB C.J Spiller

At yesterday's Scout.com camp in Jacksonville (Fla.), running back C.J. Spiller of Lake Butler (Fla.) Union County showed why he's considered the top player at his position by ripping off back to back 4.28 times in the 40-yard dash. The impressive 5-foot-10 and 184 pound standout will most likely choose between in-state schools Florida and Florida State.

What did you get out of today's camp?

Just competing with all of these great athletes out here today.

What's up for you next?

I'm going to go home, start lifting weights and get ready for spring practice.

Are you going to any camps this summer?

I haven't decided yet.

When do you plan to start taking your official visits?

Actually, I'm going to take a few starting in December. I think I'm going to take my Florida State visit in December and I haven't talked to the Florida coaches yet about that.

What factors will be important in your decision?

Academics and a church home.

Is Florida State too loaded at running back for you?

They got a lot guys now but like to compete.

What do you like about Florida?

I like Coach Urban Meyer. He's a good coach. I like the way they use their running backs and I would have a chance to start there.

What do you like about Florida State?

I like their defense. I saw them play yesterday and their defense was very good. The offensive couldn't really get going with all the offensive lineman out hurt.

Did Florida State talk about how they wanted to use you on the field?

Yesterday, they talked a little bit about corner but the running back coach talked about having me and the Deuce (Antone Smith) at running back together.

Does the defensive back talk turn you off?

A little bit. However, I'm going to play both ways in high school this year.
