Noles Host Big-Time WR

The Seminoles hosted a big-time visitor for their annual Garnet & Gold spring game. The 6-foot-4 and 210 pound from Clermont (Fla.) East Ridge enjoyed his short visit.

"I talked to Coach Sexton before the game and he told me the offense would be kind of plain," wide receiver Richard Jackson said. "I watched all of the receiver and only Greg Carr is bigger than me and I liked that."

Jackson, considered one of the top wide receivers in the state, is close to a Florida State offer.

"I left the game early with my coach and my coach got a phone call from Jeff Bowden," he said. "They wanted me to come up to Coach Bowden's office so they could offer."

Jackson, who grew up a Seminole fan, isn't ready to name any favorites.

"There are so many teams out there now," he said. "I'll name a top three in August."

As a junior, he earned a spot on the all-state team by catching 73 passes for 1,261 yards with 11 touchdowns. He is a standout on the defensive side of the ball as well. He recorded 41 tackles with three interceptions.

Jackson is an excellent student who carries a 3.0 GPA and has a 980 SAT test score.
