Did Noles Offer Georgia QB?
Teams from all across the country have lined up to offer Leesburg (GA) Lee County quarterback D'Vontrey Richardson. Some of the schools to tender him an offer are LSU, Georgia, Louisville, Clemson, Oregon and Alabama.
"Florida State came by my school today and I think they offered me through my coach but I'm not sure right now," Richardson said.
Richardson told The Territory that five schools are in line for an official visit this fall, including Georgia, Florida State, Ohio State and Alabama. Two of those teams standout in his mind.
"I like all the teams about the same but Ohio State and Clemson standout because they seem to fit my talent," he said. "Ohio State has good quarterbacks and they run a lot of quarterback draws. Clemson runs the same type of offense that my high school does."
The 6-foot-1 and 205 pounder with 4.45 40-yard dash speed draws comparisons to a former Seminole quarterback great.
"My head coach (Johnson) says that I remind him of Charlie Ward but I would compare myself to Michael Vick," he said. "I always like the ball in my hand. I'm good at both running and passing."
As a junior, Richardson passed for 1,784 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,100 yards.
