GA OL List Noles High

One player to keep your eye on resides in Sandersville (GA) Washington County. The 6-foot-4 and 325 pound standout is getting a lot of interest.

Offensive line prospect Lance Helton is seeing a lot of college scouts come through his school to take closer look at his skills.

"Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina, Georgia, Troy State and Florida State have all been at my school this month," Helton said. "My top five are Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Georgia and Florida State."

What does he like about each of his favorites?

Vanderbilt- They have great academics and a great town.

South Carolina- Steve Spurrier is the cream of the crop.

Georgia- They are a national force to be reckoned with and Coach Richt is a great guy.

Georgia Tech- I like Coach Gailey. I feel like Georgia Tech is moving in a good direction.

Florida State- Bobby Bowden, what else can you say. Florida State is always nationally ranked and great offensive linemen go to Florida State. They always get offensive lineman drafted into the NFL each year.

This summer Helton plans on attending one day camps at Florida State, Georgia and Georgia Tech.

What is looking for is a college?

"I'm looking for a family atmosphere," he said. "I also want to play for a school with a greats coaches and a place with good morals."

Helton was named 1st Team All-State and All-Middle Georgia as a junior after recording 87 pancake blocks. As a junior, Helton bench presses 330, parallel squats 550, and power cleans 275.

"I'm aggressive on the field and I also feel being able to think quickly is strength of mine," he said.

Helton is an excellent student who carries a 3.8 grade point average to go along with a 1080 SAT test score.
